MOTO STATTUS

For Moto Stattus founder Simon Pang Washford, it’s a passion-fuelled sport.
Moto Stattus was set up as a passion project to help folks avoid the pitfalls and enjoy the best parts of owning a classic. Spotting the difference between a good buy and a money pit is tricky and expensive, and we encourage some basic habits to keep your pride and joy sustainable.
We are an independent consultancy, which means only having client interests at heart. No ulterior motives, incentives or commission. We help realise dreams by making smart classic vehicle purchases and investments, guiding each step of the way, as you wish, no pressure.
Simon’s experience spans four decades - since serving a 4-year apprenticeship with Volvo back in the ‘80s - and he has owned and run classic cars and bikes ever since, also helping scores of friends purchase theirs along the way.
Whilst his success professionally has been in the music industry, Simon loves to share his other passion and knowledge for classic cars and bikes with like-minded people.

WORK
STAGE 1
RESEARCH &
EVALUATION
Together we define what ‘s important to you [ colour, originality and practical modifications, level of patina etc] and what you’ll be using the vehicle for. For some it’s a lifelong dream to use on sunny days, maybe an addition for the collection, a special gift, a show queen, or an investment. We’ll discuss potential viewings and a timeline, then agree the small commitment fee.
The depth of vehicle inspections depend on the vendor. For auctions, we know the signs to look for and a deep inspection is often not possible but is reflected in the final purchase price. For dealerships and private sales , we can test-drive and carry out a deeper inspection.
We aim to research and evaluate quickly and efficiently, , ultimately giving you an appraisal on a small selection. Sometimes a choice is time-sensitive, and a fast purchase makes sense. Every case is different. All travel costs are charged at cost.
STAGE 2
NEGOTIATION &
PURCHASE
At this stage, you may want to carry out your own negotiation however, many don’t have the time. For a small fee, we can work on your behalf to get you the best deal. Either cash price or there maybe a warranty or extras can be included that add up to be better value. We can weigh up and guide as every case is different.
STAGE 3
MANAGEMENT, TRANSPORTATION, SERVICING AND INSURANCE
Keeping a classic running regularly is important. Vehicles need to be exercised, if not problems develop and reliability becomes an issue. For some clients, we exercise their collection all year round by to driving the vehicles regularly in dry conditions nad maintain basic checks.
Arranging regular servicing and transportation is time-consuming as can obtaining the right insurance. For those who want to enjoy their classic and outsource arranging these items, we can do this for a small quarterly fee, whether it’s for one vehicle or a collection. We’ll take pride in your pride and joy.
